I see men and women with a range of issues including difficulties with intimacy in relationships, unresolved problems of childhood, past traumas, sexuality and issues with creativity, work and achievement. I help people dealing with loss and grief, as well as depression and anxiety. I am familiar with the challenges involved in different phases of life, whether it be navigating adolescence and finding an adult identity, becoming a parent, or grappling with mid and late life transitions.

I approach these issues and life transitions with psychotherapy, a significant focus of my practice. Working together in psychotherapy, we can gain an understanding of problems and conflicts whose sources are not apparent but significantly inhibiting. I can also be helpful with medications if needed. Medications can relieve symptoms that block further growth in therapy, making a combined approach most useful.

I am dedicated to working with women and the unique challenges they face in their lives, both personally and in the larger culture, including issues related to body image, self-esteem, motherhood, and career. I am knowledgeable about hormonal changes and their effects on mood. With expertise in perinatal psychiatry, I see women who are dealing with difficulties during pregnancy and the postpartum for both psychotherapy, and medication consultations.
